Both I and Dale have the isotopic neon and helium. Start with Dale and then call me if he cannot help you. Looking at a 132 picture, the advice of dropping in a new tube is a bit more appropriate, due to the way the soft mirror seals are sealed on a glass tube with the flat ends precision ground...

Thanks Ron, That is more than enough. This amplifier is a work of art. The output topology is amazing. What more can I say, I stared at the schematic for a full hour and then said a Prayer of Thanks for the beauty! I shipped a little something surplus to Greg. He's going to need quite a...

Not practical. Waaaaay cheaper to just replace the laser with modern He-Ne, and keep the old heads in a display cabinet (with cover off?).

The guys in R&D were developing those after The Beatles show premiered. Ivan brought Sam M. in as president, and Sam negotiated the Beatles licensing deal. Looking back that was pivotal time for Laserium, but Sam didn't have the slightest idea what Laserium was about, was profoundly hard of...

Steve: I sent an email before I saw your previous post. Wow! TheHermit: I think that's pretty much about it, yeah. There is no ADAT involved anywhere on my plate of spaghetti, and the ILDA block in my current setup just means single ended to differential amplifiers, nothing to do with ILDA...

I have a friend who purchased a couple he-ne's that have some historical interest. One is a SP 132, the other is a SP 134 (he says; I haven't seen them). The tubes flash on and off. He says they have outgassed and need to be regassed. Is this possible? If so, who can do it and what's involved...

Anyone have the manual for these scanner amps? 361 71 D They will probably end up with Greg. Three of them were in a non-laserium projector at SELEM and followed me home. Steve

If I'm understanding correctly, Greg is able to decode the ADAT signals into digital control voltage variables within his BELA code, which are then routed to the appropriate functions, like size, symmetry, position, etc. If so, then those same functions can 'Map' the incoming voltage levels to...

Thanks for the reply. I managed to sort it out by reading the oppositions product manual. There are 9 pages of saved text which start at page 0 not 1 as you would expect if there is no text in page 0 the unit will not display and after programming pages 0 - 9 you have to set the play time for each...

According to the documentation I've got (thanks Ron) the MIDI was recorded on chan 5 of the "A" tapes. Chan 5 wasn't DC. I'd look at it with a scope. I doubt an ADAT could record a raw MIDI signal worth a damn. It's probably a 1/2 speed or slower version of a MIDI signal that would need to be...

Hey John, It was great seeing you again! Also nice to see you have a potential laserist in the family too! We talked about a bimonthly call, probably quarterly at a minimum. If we do our next ZOOM call two months out after SELEM, I think this is a good interval. I’d suggest that we reconvene...

Maybe slightly off topic, but does anyone know of a way to decode the Ch6 data for ADAT midi that usually fed a midiana without recreating it from the schematic?

🤯 That's impressive! Well done, Greg.👏👏👏👏👏 Didn't see that one coming, 'cause I never realized the 2 projects were one & the same. How will BELA imagery be controlled and generated? Or is it intended to be more of an ILDA file reader to augment the 6b, kinda like a simulated 4th channel data...

Results are in. The XYRGB signals produced by the 6b rebuild are being recorded and played back synched to audio by using the BELA platform. It works admirably. The cycloids including the color mod look the same whether they come from the analog circuits, or from bela. This bodes well for...

There is a free version you can try called DALL·E mini. It's not as powerful but it's the same idea. Some new technologies are kind of scary. This one has a creepy factor of at least 7. I guess for now it's limited to the digital domain. But eventually there will be robot painters that can...
