    I would assume it is just an analog signal, you might want to take a look at the old OpenLase project by Hector Martin. That should give you some inspiration and technical insight.

    Hi all I need find the signal for a x y scanner pcb. Until now I have found that it has a +15V and -15V and a zero volt supply. I think it has a 0-180mV supply for how wide the pattern is. but i am looking for the pattern control now. Could it simply be 0-1V or am I looking for a digital...

    You are right. But the nerd in me likes to play with stuff like this. The only thing I cannot figure out is the “figure signal”. Seems like it is a simple 0-1V signal maybe.
