The TEC is coated... I have one of those LPMs with a High Power TEC. But yes.. an un-coated TEC can handle higher powers since less is absorbed like you mentioned. Don't forget that an un-coated TEC sensor is not Broadband linear where a properly coated TEC sensor is much more. Jerry

I'd contact Brian Bohan at Cambridge Lasers about a 35+mW He-Ne. He services the Spectra-Physics lines, including the 107, 907, and 127 lasers.

Something like that, yes. I haven't done anything like that myself so I don't know if there are any caveats. However, using a sound card as a laser DAC used to be popular in the hobbyist scene. So there is some knowledge around in this area. In the past ADAT tapes were commonly used to capture...

what about modulating a diode or dpss red with an aom / pcaom. that should give you the same timing characteristics of your argon. also, most laser control software allows you to set timing on the individual color channels.

Pcaom and crystal. Ugc are a bit rare these days. For home there are 60x Argons for couple hundred. Someone had one for sale here recently. Your real challenge is finding a 35 mw hene. Those are really rare. For control there are lots of options and again few hundred will do it. You...

Surely being uncoated means that heat being dissipated by the TEC is much lower, and as such it can handle higher powers. No?

My answer to this so far has been to create the music I want for an oscilloscope, and then filter an aux feed that is going to touch designer with a severe LPF around 3khz. Obviously what I'm sending to a laser is a much loser resolution/complexity than what I can do with an oscilloscope, but...

No, LSX can't send OSC out. It can receive frames over OSC but not the other way round. To capture frames generated by LSX you can: * Capture the analog signal generated by the DAC and send it back to your own software via a sound card (easiest way) * Rewrite a software driver for a DAC...

The use case is that I'm actually interested in recording and sampling the audio that would result from playing the X and Y frequencies through the left and right channel of a speaker system. This would result in some very dense noise, but treated properly, could be listenable. I've been working...

May I ask why you have chosen brass as a baseplate material ? Its thermal expansion coefficient is only slightly lower than aluminium. (steel is much lower in that respect) Brass conducts heat twice as bad as aluminium. If you really plan to build these powers you will have to conduct 16 to...

I am reasonably sure the answer to this is no, but you can ask the DrLava, the author of LSX. Regarding (a), retrieve what data as audio? Regarding (b), can't you just communicate to Touchdesigner with OSC? Personally, I've never used OSC with LSX but the features listed with LSX...
