Beamheight is different from each manufacturer. Most manufacturers have a beamheight of 28mm some a bit more. We have 34mm for example. There is no real standard to it.

Thanks for the service offer. I may wind up going that route. I'll poke around on the card a bit more first to see if it's anything obvious. Just curious, does anyone know if there is any convention on a standard height for the exit beam from various laser modules, or is each manufacturer...

I came across this while going through stuff of mine that my mom has stored in her attic for many years. I had forgotten about having this. The video was uploaded in 4k for those that wish to see it in higher resolution.

Take a look at the laser beam in the image in the link below. This can't be safe! I don't think we could get away with this nonsense in the USA. Eliud Kipchoge shatters 2h marathon barrier in Vienna by 20 sec using LASER guidance ...

Buy a decent quality fan of same size and voltage and voltage type (AC/DC) and fit it. They're generally not complicated. If they've left the labels on them, you could just find an exact replacement, they're not having them OEMed specially for them.

The module can be fixed but its only a 500mw source wich cost nothing these days. However Able doesn,t sell modules but they might help you and sell you a replacement one. I can fix the one you have by replacing the diode and also you get a new driverboard so then its just install it back and...

I should at least use the correct terminology, sorry. It would be a laser module that needs replacing, not just the diode:disapointed: Craig

Have experienced different thermal problems on assorted models (mostly kvants) wierdly taking a long time to fire up the OPSL on 30watt spectrums, random over heating of OPSL cuttign green out. Sometimes its the thermistor cable being loose. This time I think its a fan bearing ( output fan , don't...

Thx, first time I've had one fail. There is a short power-on delay on the unit, but it seemed to delay all three diodes uniformly. I was hoping I could just track down a replacement diode that would drop in without a bunch of alignment dancing. I have no idea what a 500mw or 1w Chinese red diode...

One of our 4 yr old Able 2.5w RGB systems has a 500mw red diode that was slow to come on for a while and then gradually just quit showing up. Opened the unit up and was hoping for a bad connection. Sprayed and reseated everything I could get to, including the brightness trim pot on the back but no...

The screen material has a lot to do with what a 405nm diode spot will look like. Some paper has whitening agents in it and if you wash a white sheet in the right kind of detergent it will also. When you shine a 405nm laser on that it looks bright bluish white. You can't see the violet at all. If...

There is a seller on Ebay, Laserwinkel, but 24$ a mirror is the cost. Starlight Photonics (Kevin Criqui) has 5x5x0.9 on Ebay, enhanced aluminum, but may be 0.3 mm too thick for slotted shafts. However $6.95 is laserist cheap. Steve

Good point. As you also pointed out, its a wildcard on the existing dichros. Most (modern) dichros in my experience aren't geared towards the low end of the spectrum. I should do some measurements of the more commonly available ones from Goldenstar, Kvant, etc. The cube approach might be harder...

The show running every night sort of makes it difficult to plan a gathering, but I'd still like to try. How about something on Saturday the 9th? An afternoon of hanging out, some food, then over to the show. Any of the weekend days (9th, 10th, 16th, or 17th) would be fine with me, and if anyone...
