My youtube channel is The Golden Age of Laser Shows. Everything posted there was output from a system I developed using four bela "starter kit" devices and a lot of support from the elders and rock stars of live laser concert history. The open part of the platform shown in the videos is a c++...

The Bela low latency audio platform can simultaneously record stereo audio at 44.1kHz and eight ADC channels at 22050Hz, and also simultaneously output stereo audio and eight DAC channels at the same rates.

Hello Everyone, I was a laserist years ago running shows in planetariums. I got out of the business for a long time, but back into it as a hobby. I use to use FM encoded 8 track tapes to record the images for a show and need to find a way to do something like that but without the limitations of...

Most commercial laser software is ILDA frame based for animated line graphics 🤮 and kazillion beam stage productions, with little focus on projected abstracts (the heart of the original art, IMO). I'm a retired Laserium laserist, only interested in creating, playing, and recording videos of...

Ivan space has a bit of nonlinear chaos/ noise if any oscillator is on, and by definition the way an oscillator works, some thermal noise and shot noise. Its quantization is a defined at one end by the roughly the charge of an electron. Its limit at the other end is the response curve of the...

Best to not mess with the driver's trim pots. They are fine tuned from the factory and wouldn't detune on their own. Only experienced techs should attempt adjusting them. It's good that the galvos haven't been driven too hard which makes a blown driver less likely, but not impossible. Prolonged...

No, the trim pots haven't been adjusted yet. The laser has had this problem for a while, but I thought it was the ILDA cable... Now I've connected the FB3 DAC without the cable, and the problem persists. And the laser never actually runs at 100% XY, always smaller. Below is another photo....

Looks like there is a damping problem on the vertical galvo. 1st thought is to check the connections between the galvo and driver to ensure there's feedback. Did this suddenly happen, without rhyme nor reason, after the projector had been jostled around, or after giving the galvos a long thrashing...

Greg, Yes, I have access to the archive since, I guess, I'm the "archivist" having done all the digitization of images, videos and documents. Unfortunately I don't have a way to usefully put all that on-line. I don't own a digital Asset Management (DAM) system or have access to a public version...

Is the CYGN-B recognized as a unique enough piece of physics that a Dryer complete system must contain a non-emulated original CYGN-B circuit? The 3D6B emulator is not a Dryer complete system. The constraint is eight max ADCs for live signal input. So, for example, the individual gain...

I don't find the term "Ivan space" it disrespectful, just - for me - undefined. It's an interesting shorthand. The idea lends itself to a variation on "Turing complete" in computer science. If a laser system was "Dryer complete" it could do all the things a 6B could do in a live performance. A...

The 6B3D emulator has a variety of 3D modes of the Ivan space such as 2D plane tilted, cycloid stack, skaters on rink, etc.

I may have used that coinage in a post a number of years back. Please let me know if it could be seen as disrespectful to say that. I'm using that term to refer to the set of capabilities / constraints that creates what I think of as the "Laserium Universe" meaning the four channels, four colors...
