I,m planning to have my own DPSS driver and i wondered if anyone has a 5 watt green DPSS module. CNI, Viasho or laserwave or another brand is fine.
I,m looking for someone who can make a picture of the inside. I would like to know what the size of the Tecplate is from the Crystal and pumpdiode.
Data of current running true the tec,s and pumpdiode would be even better.
I anyone has one and could help me without that would be great.
Hi Edison
I dont want to open up my laser to take a picture, but i recently fiddled a bit with the psu, and measured the following numbers:
CNI W series..
Max diode current 40A (thats the limit set point, the diode usually runs at 36'ish..)
Diode TEC: 12V up to 12A
crystal tecs: 12V up to about 2-3A - difficult to measure, because they change fast as the crystals heat up.
Hope this helps..

Thanks simon, that helps allot. I,m interested in having my own green DPSS drivers to replace the chinese ones. So with a few more people that can measure their 5 watt greens to do some comparison then i have some idea what the driver should be capable of. Thanks simon, anyone else ?:)
No problem.. If this ends up as a commercial product at a reasonable price, i would probably be interested, as i am not too impressed with the stability of the Kvant psu i have for this laser..
Also one thing to account for, besides what other people have written in the other thread, is to limit how much the crystal temp can change each second/minute, when heating up... a lot of crystals have been damaged by heating up too fast.. also, the self-adjusting PID circuit with feed-through from the diode drive current sounds like a very good idea, for added stability..

If I were you I would simply contact some OEM laserhead sellers.
Just ask them the exact driver requirements. There is no need to reverse engineer everything.
This is no secret info, lots of companies use cni heads with their own drivers, for instance.
In the end, you would like to say that your driver is compatible with models A,B,C from brand X,Y,Z.
The only way to guarantee that is when you know their exact driver requirements.
Omicron 5W DPSS. Not a common layout, single KTP TEC.

If only they had put a lasorb there instead of some zenerdiode ;)Quote:
