Dual drivers, and new revision quad drivers in stock

Based on feedback the quad drivers has had a few changes :)

What's new:
Input/output pads changed so standard 0.1" molex connectors can be mounted
Groundplane changed to make soldering wires easier
Beam suppression jumpers replaced by a single solder jumper, that will enable beam suppression on all channels in one go
Solder jumpers on the back of the board to bridge the modulation inputs
Test points to measure current with a diode connected (0.1V / A)

Rest of specs remains the same:

Board size: 63x48mm
Output current: 0-2A modulation, 0-0.5A bias (2.5A total)
4 separate modulation inputs
5-24V supply voltage

Price stays at 60 euro.

Lots of people have asked me to do a dual channel version, so here we go:

Price: 40 euro.

Do these use separate power inputs for each driver or one common supply? If a common supply I am assuming you could go with a 12v 10A supply so that you could drive each channel at full power, I series my blues, so I need the higher voltage, but how does this effect using it also for red. It seems like a lot of voltage to sink. What heat sinking is recommended? Thanks

Power input is common for all channels. Heatsinking depends on how much voltage the FETs has to "eat".

2 blues in series, with a 12V supply will not create much heat, so a small scrap piece of aluminum will be enough cooling. :)

How much heat the red will generate depends on your drive current, what diodes are you using and how many?

Oh yes, forgot about that, just added it to the specs :)

Supply voltage = 5 to 24V

I've got one of the quad drives and i absolutely love it. It's just a case of adjusting the bias to just below threshold then applying 5v mod and setting the gain to the maximum current for the diode.
So unbelievably easy to set up, even for me :)

Yes, the quad is a great driver. Thomas has done an excellent job. I wish I hadn't wasted my money buying 3 of Phritzler's.

Now if only we could get a single channel with beam suppression from Thomas ;)

Why not buy a dual and use one channel. Its already great that thomas was willing to spend a huge amount of time in developing high quality drivers. I think supporting him and buy a dual would be appreciated. Development cost money so start spending first:rolleyes:

Completely agree to this. I have four of these drivers and love them. I'm REALLY BAD on hooking things up. So if I can hook them up anyone can.
