80W 532nm YAG up and running! :) [Very image heavy]

Evening all,
After several weeks of fiddling I've managed to get an 80W 532nm YAG back up and running. :)

Disclaimer:
Before any asks, suitable Glendale moulded OD8 goggles were on at all times, even if a single screw was removed from the thing [that's another story :cool:] + as well as all the usual water + leccy precautions. I know how to safely work on these.

A completely different beast than our old "friend". Very, very small; smaller than a famous constellation. And weighs just 105kg. If you removed the voltage torroidal transformer, you could half that.

Same Q-Switch driver, however there is what looks like a spatial filter included in the cavity. :)
Their service plug made me laugh (photo further down) wasn't connected to anything at all!

I've had a best guess at mapping the internals, sketch at the end.

Wow, she's a beauty. Has me seriously wondering how much it'd cost to crate it up and ship to Canada, and if it'd survive the trip.

Is something I've been considering for awhile, but have always held back partly due to only having a few larger scale outdoor shows a year where something like that could be made use of, and partly due to what I think is very appropriate fear.

Great to know there are viable options other than the older models as they seem to be drying up as time goes. How much fiddling was required in comparison to the earlier models ?

Hell yes. I only believe it when I see it cut black electrical tape. >:) Or zap the side of someone's head.

My favourite picture is the labelled one with the beam paths and optics names. Images like those combine so many details, definitely the fastest way to take it all in.

My favourite question is Shrad's: Could this be turned into a ring laser? If so, what would that change, other than the obvious topology change?
