how much brighter is 473 over 457 or 405?

1 lets say 180mw of 405 = roughly what in 473?

1watt 457 = roughly what in 473?

i know its subjective im just looking for a rough estimate.



2 also some green lasers are wired to red ilda why is this?


3 differential advantages/disadvantages over single ended
especially thru about 40m of ilda cable linked to 3 lasers using splitters or ilda passthru on the projectors.

1. Use chroma and look at luminosity values
2. Ilda standard states that monochrome lasers should be wired to the red input
3. Differential receivers are a great way to eliminate noise picked up trough your cables ... :)

I don't think this originates from ILDA. At least, I don't think it's discussed in the ISP doc. I suspect some projectors are wired like this so that they will still work with software and/or DAC that only implements RGB output (no intensity).

Yeah, if you're using reasonable software and a DAC that implements intensity output, I think it makes sense to connect your monochrome projector intensity to... uh... intensity. :D

The problem I have seen when wiring the laser to the intensity output is you cannot control the brightness of the laser and it will be full power when on.

I have tested this with my QM.net and livepro.

Now I have connected my green to the green instead of intensity and made a green color pallet for it and I have brightness control with livepro.

It sounds like Pangolin uses the intensity signal as some LASER on/off signal, instead of for intensity modulation. I connected my modulation to the intensity signal and got full depth of modulation with both HE-Laserscan and the Zoof software. Unfortunately the ILDA standard is not perfectly clear on this point, so I guess everybody has to do what works with their software.

I do not know how mamba does it. My laser is TTL (100mw). I'll know what mamba does in 1 week as I just bought a new toy a minute ago (1W cni).

If I remember well the easy-lase does have analog intensity control with Mamba

1W 405 nm = 3.18 lm
1W 445 nm = 28.95 lm
1W 457 nm = 37.44 lm
1W 473nm = 70.77 lm

according to the nice Chroma program ;)
