That's a good question. I'm not sure how LSX handles this. Maybe it adds or removes a frame periodically so that on average, you end up with the desired fps (in this case, the number of frames in an Animation event versus its length)?
Usually, you don't have to care about this.
Solidude - I see this as an analogy of sweeping a room.
Each point is a piece of litter.
Each frame is equated to me clearing the room of litter, someone dropping the litter again and me starting again.
If there is one point (one piece of litter) it is really quick for me to sweep the room and start again, so frames per second will be fast.
If there are hundreds of pieces of litter, it will take me longer to sweep up, so the number of times per second (frames) will be lower.
Lasers only project a single beam - just really quickly, so this analogy works quite well I think.

my guess is that it's handled by the application itself
the fps setting for import of ILDA files is only due to the reason that other program where you import the animation might handle this differently so by fps it knows how to adjust this with its internal logic
so that the animation won't play too fast or too slow but i never had problem with imported ILD at 30 fps, it only tells me that animation averaging of 1000 points will be played smoothly and if there's more, say 2000 points, it might start to flicker
but don't drive yourself by fps or pps, the output depends on so many variables that it's impossible to say exact fps or pps speed (1000 points of a circle would probably draw faster than 1000 points of randomly placed dots)

By the way, recording LSX preview doesn't play wave or spec(a) functions, so there's is some difference between those two

it's scanned with DT40 pro at 40kpps. I haven't measured the angle though. At first it flickered more, so I remade some scenes there, but what I must tell is that optimization does miracles... even simple setting to play everything as abstracts (the built in optimization) nullifies flickering on most of the effects.Quote:

I have the same problem as you re. the wave functions not hearing the audio when exporting to avi. I've reported it in the bugs/suggestions document.

I'm planing on creating a show with lots of different live show interfaces - midi, osc and the like.
Does Lsx have the ability to export what is outputting to the lasers as an ild or similar file, while still playing sections of a timeline, enabling capture of a performance for later playback?
If not, can CMB expression one up? :p
