Default 3W vs 5W? different scan speeds...

Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing well...

I'll appreciate if anyone can help me decide which laser would be my best buy. We mostly do outdoor building projection (advertising) and we have two buying options:

    1 - 3W with a 45K scanspeed

    2 - 5W with a 30K scanspeed

    What would you say?

    Thanks in advance!

The latter. Big power + slower scan speed = better visibiliy. 30k is still plenty fast..

Stop! Don't buy anything; post a link to the projectors. I get suspicous when I hear 45k scanners and if you have to ask, then I'd like to see what you are looking at for multipleWATT projectors before giving advice. No offence intended, but if you are looking to buy a projector with that much power you should be slightly beyond asking about scanner speeds. I would also like to see all the details of the projector, manufacture especially, so the advice can be on more than just the scanner speed. This is the best place for advice... but having the full picture will make that advice much more enlightening

    Wink

I am an RGB man; I'd go for two of the 1W RGBs.

Hey Aaron... If they are doing mostly outdoor advertising, a 1 watt RGB projector isn't going to be very useful. Outdoor laser shows need lots of power. A 1 watt projector would look pretty pathetic outside...

If it were me, I'd got for the 5 watt unit.

I think it might be helpful if you could post detils of your budget as maybe someone wants to suggest alternatives, not that there's anything wrong with Medialas, just that there maybe other companies you should consider.

    thank you all...

Yeah I do agree, a 1W RGB wont help much...

Buffo: but isnt the scan speed important? some of the projections include phrases... if we go for the 5W with less scan speed will make the projetion intermittent, isnt it?

    My budget is around $12K...

    I'll appreciate your input...

Your output shouldn't flicker much at 30k.. also, power is of the utmost importance when doing outdoor projections, so the 5W system is clearly the best choice on that merit.

Thank you ElektroFreak, its weird though because I already have a PowerVX at 45K pps and it does flicker...

Now, to get something straight, the faster the scan speed the less the flickering right???? So if it flicker with a 3W 45K pps, it will flicker more with a 5W 30K pps????

White light, any other projector you can suggest?

    Thank you all!
