Lightbulb Cheap and stable aixiz mounts

I don't know if somebody came up with this idea before, but I thought I would share it with you.
My local DIY store sell these clamps for 12 mm water conduits.
They make cheap and stable mounts with proper thermal conduction.
On the underside there is a M6 hole, but you can mount them from the inside out with a M5 bolt too.
    Beam height is 19mm.

I'm not sure if there are easily available in the imperial parts of the world, though.

you might be interested by the 12mm multi phase cable clamp blocks then

they are perfect for putting 4 aixiz and a cylinder to glue a cube on

I couldn't find any picture of the one I think of, but it's the same as the one hereunder except it is in aluminium and for 5 cables (and alignment is near perfect, unlike this cheap one)

I bought a fair few of these: http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.9865

Aixiz modules and a bit of thermal paste fit perfectly.

Although, those $18 models seem to be these: http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10095

My preference these days is to use an adjustable reamer to get the perfect hole size in a block of aluminum...

I make my own. I use a chunck of aluminum from the surplus store drill it out to fit the Aixiz and add a set screw. Easy.

I do have a drill press, that helps.

Thanks for the tip, if you need to, you can even salvage the connectors, cables and other greebles off them. I've got the 50mW green DPSS version, beam height from the bottom of the heatsink is 19mm.

The heatsink itself is spacious enough to put the diode, mount and a Lasorb in. You can put an Aixiz mount in there, or replace the existing diode (it's already got a focussing lens).
