Lumileds has announced that they have decided to focus their
future efforts on the new line of Rebel High Power LEDs and
on February 28, 2010 will discontinue the following series
of LEDs:

Luxeon I (stars & emitters)
Luxeon III (stars & emitters)
Luxeon V (stars & emitters)
Luxeon Ring
Luxeon Line
Luxeon Flood
Luxeon K2
Luxeon K2 Star
Luxeon Star/O
Luxeon Star/C
Luxeon Dental (stars & emitters)
Luxeon V Portable (stars & emitters)
Luxeon Collimator


Luxeon Legacy LEDs Can Still Be Ordered

We will continue to accept orders for any of the above LEDs on
our website at www.luxeonstar.com until February 28, 2010. After
that date we will only offer these LEDs until we no longer have
any inventory available. Fraen, L2 and Polymer lenses that are
specifically designed for the above LEDs will continue to be
available from our website until the respective manufacturers
discontinue production.


Pre-Mounted Rebel LEDs Now Available

To build on the legacy of the Luxeon Star LED, we are also pleased
to announce that we have started production of a full lineup of
Rebel LEDs that are pre-mounted to 20mm star and 10mm square
bases. The 20mm star bases are the same form factor as the
original Luxeon Star LEDs, while the 10mm square bases offers a
smaller footprint that can be worked with using standard
electronic bench tools.

Pre-mounted Rebel LEDs are available in all standard colors
and whites. We also have a full lineup of compatible lenses for
our pre-mounted LEDs.

no real shock there luxeons are not realy that bright when compared to other singel package leds

The real shock is that Lumileds is doing much better then any other LED company Rebels are better anyways.
