Since it looks like Steve's friend isn't too interested I decided I needed to find out if the tube was still intact or not. I disconnected the tube (being careful to mark all the wires so I know where they go) and hooked up the PSU from my broken SP-127 HeNe up to the anode and cathode, switched it on for a few seconds and then back off. The PSU brick then fired a couple ignition pulses into the tube and I saw a purple flash from the HR mirror
Now that I know this thing isn't a waste of time I took the radiator into my refrigeration lab and squished the burst copper tubes back together and soldered them closed. Now the next part I need to get the broken retaining rings off and see if I can get those fixed/replaced.
Anyone have interlock wiring diagrams for this laser? I see no reason that it shouldn't work once I fix the water cooling system.
