I have access to good prices for the famous HL63133DG diode.

For those who don't know this little wonder, this model is the best diode currently on the market for red color. The wavelength of 637nm is three times more visible (3X) than traditional 658nm diodes.

With high-quality coated glass (FL=4mm for example), you can get a 1.4 * 2.6mm beam with a divergence of 0.65mrad, which is excellent.

About the power output, it is easy and no-dangerous for the diode to obtain 200mW @ 270mA (with temperature regulation). Something important to mention too, the case of this diode is isolated, this means that you can use one driver for 4 diodes for example, by connecting them in series without harming them.

Hello,

Good question, if the dead diode installed in it is a TO18 one (5.6mm of diameter), so you can install the HL63133DG into your module .
The big advantage of this kind of diodes : you don't need to correct them after the collimating lens, the beam is already nice !

Check too the max Amps the driver can deliver. If it can give till 0.28A it's enough.
