This is what happens when I get bored at work.
Hey guys,
So, as many of you know, I'm the A2 for Fiddler on the Roof. Once we're loaded in to a city, assuming nothing breaks, the run of the show is usually pretty uneventful, I.E: I get bored.
About a year ago I bought this vex robot kit from Woot. It makes a cute little robot with a gripper arm that's remote control so you can drive it around and bring beers to people, or torment your cat.
Anyway, after a year of bouncing around in a work box, it is in what a herrur auction would describe as "BRAND NEW OVERSPEC GREATNESS!!!!1one!"
So, after looking at some of swami's pictures, I Decied that I could probably reconfigure this into a lumina projector of sorts, as this is basically a glorified erector set, with 5 variable remote-controlled motors.
so, here are some pictures of round one. I'm waiting for a glass sample set to make the lumina wheels (which will be the big red gears in the picture, i'll just cut spokes and attach the glass to them). I took apart the end effector, which gave me the gears with the arms on them, i figure I can use these as flags, or to switch in and out static glass parts. I figure it's a decent build for a beat up, repurposed $80 robot. Now all i need are some low-ish power red and green (I'm thinking under 30mw so I can use it in my hotel room).
Ok, here's the part you've been waiting for: (front, top down, back)
