    Cool Ok here i go

hey everyone been a while since i last posted but it looks like the time is about here!! My schedule is now clearing up for a month so it looks like ill be able to focus and start collecting parts for my Projector(s) Ive been Touring non stop for the last 6 months now i got a 2 month break (with a vacation thrown in) to get a good start on this project. The goal to start with a min of 1 watt green projector with ability for basic animations and Beam effects. will be used for "eye candy" in some of the shows im doing. (yes i know about needing a variance and CDRHC blah blah ) so for now im focusing on the "Guts" please please feel free to recommend items im all ears. at the moment i have nada for this project ill have to acquire all items needed. I am only interested in these 2 projectors to be Green i have plans for a full color 3rd projector down the line. i do plan on buying pangolin but haven yet decided on which one. projector must be able to do logos animations and beam effects. I will be getting a projector housing from one stop to help simplify the variance process.
so come on guys help me out help me avoid the mistakes others have made.

Pangolin LD2000 Intro or Basic, definitely!
You can always easily upgrade to Pangolin LD2000 Pro later if you find out you need the features.
(The Pangolin website does a good job of explaining the features of the different versions).
All versions of LD2000 can play back ALL LD2000 shows, regardless of the version it was created on.

If you need enhanced live performance capability, add LivePro if you want one of the best packages available!

For the sake of portability, I definitely recommend getting your LD2000 in a QM.NET box!!
Being able to connect and control from any laptop OR desktop computer, anytime, really makes it nice!
The Pangolin license is tied directly to the hardware, so you could install the LD2000 software packages on as many computers as you wish, and connect the QM.net box when / where needed.

You didn't mention in your profile where you are located -
If you plan on purchasing in the USA, I recommend you contact Pangolin directly using the "Contact" link & form on their web page. You'll get a direct answer to any questions you might have, and can request a quote for whatever package you decide to purchase.

Good luck, and welcome back to the forum!!

    depending on your budget.
mine was about 2k and i spent 3k$ but have a nice first projector ..... given the one above me with LD2000 will have a lot more features and the FB3 is the same way where the software is tied to the hardware not the pc

1.5W Viasho Laser I got directly from Viasho through a guy named Frank.
Plus Scan pro 40’s from Dave at Lasershow Parts
And the FB3 from Pangolin Laser Systems

complete review here and if you scroe down some their were some nice beam shots with just 2 pieces of paper in my garage.

Pangolin Basic w/ a .net is a great start. Obviously it depends on how "fancy" you want to start., 1W LaserWave (will be well over 1W), the new DT40 Wides are just silly good scanners and the CDRH we can work out also...

    I sent you a PM.

    Shawnb,

Something else to consider, FLEM is less than 2 weeks. At FLEM, you'd have the opportunity to see a wide variety of projectors and how they're built. You'd also have the opportunity to try out both the FB3 and QM2000 from Pangolin. More information can be found here: http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...try-this-again!

    Here would be my recommendations:

If you plan on just doing beams, logos, etc. Then go with the FB3/QuickShow package. If you plan on doing complex shows, multiple projectors, beams, pre-programmed choreographed shows, get the QM2000.

Scanners- DT-40's, either Pro's or Wides. They are about the best scanners you can get, second only to Cambridge.

    DUDE -

    Me too!!
(Although I'm in Huntsville most of the time.
The missus, critters, mortgage, and most of my non-laser stuff is in Knoxville...)

Actually, maybe I knew you were a fellow Knoxvillian from when you first joined the forum...my brain cells don't work as good as they used too!!!
If our weekend trips "home" ever match, I'd be glad to bring the gear and let you check it out!
