See, I think that as useful as that info is, the answer "15mW is unsafe" is the best answer for LPF in general. If you try to introduce the real complexity of determining safety, the high rep "know it alls" that you speak of will argue and argue until they have somehow twisted their delusions into "fact", or at the very least they'll make posts endorsing their point of view and support the delusions with their high rep.. I've seen some of them argue this stuff with professionals that really know what they're talking about. Very unfortunate.

Basically, the simpler the better over there, IMO.

Thats why I posted the Graph from O'Hagan... Cant argue against fact.....

Part of the problem is IF I give them the MPE calculations they WILL try to use them, and I doubt many of them could correctly input the exponent into the calculator...

Worse yet, if I give them the simplified method, someone is REALLY gonna get hurt... And they would simplify it even more..

EVEN worse, is they would NOT bother to do the cumulative portion...

This is perhaps the most important point of all. A large portion of the folks on LPF don't really want to know the truth. You are to be commended for fighting the good fight to bring knowledge to them, but you can't make them listen. Sigh...

Good move. Though I'm reminded of a quote from the end of the classic 80's film "War Games", when Joshua (the W.O.P.R. computer) comments that "the only winning move is not to play." I think that applies equally to LPF and global thermalnuclear war.

Yeah, I don't think you can win over there. Pat's example of a reach-around line is apt. They're too busy jerking each other off over there to listen to reason.

Kudos to MixedGas and Electrofreak for trying to inject some facts into the discussion over there. I admire you both for your patience in dealing with the rampant stupidity that infects the place. But I just don't have the will to join you. I'd lose my temper and say something nasty, and then just like Pat I'd be banned.
