    Default Old School Laser Links - Two Great Articles

    Hi Folks

    I've just been sent two great links. The first one's a great magazine article (pages 58/59) about lasers used in the big concerts during the seventies etc... Take notice of the bit where it mentions audience scanning with a 60 watt laser!!

    I knew that would get your attention


    Second link is to some old school video of The Who, Wings and Kate Bush all of whom used Lasers in their productions.

    I love those video's... 'Won't get fooled again' is one of my all time favourite Who tracks, Roger Daltry's vocals are just superb, he's gotta be one of the coolest guys ever, and as for Keith Moon's drumming, words alone cannot express the tingling down my spine when I see him at work on that kit. A true master if ever there was one :-)

    As for Kate Bush.... Yummy, it reminds me of my youth, drooling over her picture on the Lionheart album

    Last 2 nothing special but the WHO. OMG! in 1978!!!!! and still looks awesome in 2010!

    Too right, it feels like yesterday. I'm (almost) 52 and I remember it soooo well. Ahhhh, happy days

    Does anyone know how to save YouTube video's? I'd love to get that Who clip onto a DVD.

    I have youtube get... It let you save it and save to AVI, MPG, MP4 etc.
    I will save the movie for you.

    OK have downloaded it, but choose the highest resolution, 720x320 orso, didn't look good.
    I have checked it and it seems that the actual video output is around 640x380 pixels.
    So now i DL it in 640x360 and 640x480... will check tomorrow if that worked out.
    So now i am DL'ing again at 640x480, and in some other formats (MP4, WMV) so you can choose.
    Sometimes it doesn't let me choose the audio bitrate sometimes it does.
    When it does i choose 256Kbit. At some formats it's only 80kbps sorry !

    I have put them in the queue in several formats: will let it run (downloads go in near realtime, so like 7 min per movie which is normally 10min05sec) conversion is quick.
    Let's see what it makes from the files and i will place them on my ftp for you.

    That's brilliant and I appreciate your efforts. I didn't realise it would be so complicated getting a clip off YouTube. If you've ever looked at Liveleak, which is similar to youTube, there's a button to click that lets you download the movies... simple

    just copy and paste and select your output format, your done, its a complete suite of programs & you just chose the 'modules' that you want.

    I also use their YouTube to MP3 downloader/converter there's some real gems on youtube and its so simple!
