I wouldn't dare put any fine detail about me or my day to day life. I'm just trying to network a little and meet people which is near impossible to do here in Wisconsin unless you like going to bars and ice fishing. I'm aware that these sites are created for the purpose of data mining but it's also an an avenue to meet people. I'll take my chances for now.

HAHAHAHA.... now that is some funnie stuff right thar...reminds me of this...

The MIT study of tinfoil hats revealed a 3dBgain of signal levels in the brain at S-Band while wearing one..

As for the data mining. We needed a small chunk of a "strategic" metal for work riday, I Searched Ebay for it and got the metal.. Went to my bosses office and told him I found it. My boss searched ebay and he got the gemstones made from it, and even using my search terms, did NOT get the same search... In fact, he got the classic "Your search returned 0 items" Same network, same building, IPs 1 count different..

    Go Figgure...

I have Facebook, but the easiest way is to just leave all your personal information off :P

The internet is a scary place with respect to privacy, which is to say there is none. I don't think that hiding by staying off Facebook or even the internet will help you much though. There are just too many trails to follow now. Good advice someone had to not put anything online (or even on your computer) that you don't want the whole world to know.

More good words to live by: if you doing something you have to hide from other people, chances are you probably shouldn't be doing it. Of course, if my wife finds my candy stash in my office i'll never here the end of it...

imagine if one of your buddies from high school was a gun toting survivalist government hating conspiracy theorist...you are linked to him because he is one of your "friends". It is not so much what you say, it is who you are connected with and with what they say (and of course the 6 degrees of separation) . People have forgotten how to pick up a phone and call someone...especially...a friend.

at some point you are connected to "that guy"

EDIT- but then again...it could be just a harmless social networking website...HAHAHA

Well, I'm a 28 year old (soon to be 29) with no life other than work and PL. I only have one friend up here in Wisconsin and he's busy with his business, his hot fiancee and his son. I figure I want to get around and meet people, maybe find a girlfriend before I'm 50. Sorry, but their is NOTHING to do around here besides bars and ice fishing and I'm into neither. I think my problem is this stupid state. 95% of the people I meet up here are losers and morons. No one has similar interests unless they are over 50. (Not that their is anything wrong with that, but I need to find some friends my age too. Especially women.)

I think what I really need is a change in scenery, I'm thinking of moving out west. From the people I've talked to on this forum, It sounds like their is A LOT to do out there.
