Laser Warning Custome metal projector cut-out plate

    Hello All,

I am working on some new projectors and want to try something out on these next builds...

I was searching on the internet for a company that will do custom laser cutting for a reasonable price.

I want to design maybe a 10" x 4" plate (1/16" thick) with all of the following "holes" laser cut out...

    ILDA D-Sub IN
    ILDA D-Sub OUT
    DMX IN
    DMX OUT
    External interlock connect (D-sub 9)
    Powercon connector IN
    Powercon connector OUT
    Key Switch
    Power Switch
    Indicators
    ect.....

Bottom line.... If I had a plate already made like this the enclosure only needs a clean rectangular cutout and this custom plate screwed on the face... This job would finish much more professional looking..

A bonus would be to find a place that can do silk screening to label all of the cut-outs..

Anyone on the forum have experience with this?

It certainly seems very simple and doable... I haven’t approached any laser cutter just yet... I figure I check to see if anyone has any known resources first..

    Thanks!!!

I've been looking at the web site. Apparently if you download the software and design your front the software automatically prices it for you. You can go to a tab at any time to check the price.

In the example on their screen shots page, quite a complex looking panel was showing pricing of $69. How typical that is I don't know.

    Hope this helps.

I've never used them personally, although I have had some friends from other forums use them.

They seem pretty reasonable, and you know the cost up-front using your own material or theirs....

But no, i haven't used them.

    Talking Any input?

So this Panel Design company and software is EXACTLY what I was looking for....

I think we all have spent great amounts of time Dremeling out D-SUB cut outs, rocker switches, LED's, etc... ect......

I think this is worth every penny for the time saved AND finished product.

    The pannel is 4" x 14"

I attached my current design and would be interested if anyone has any suggestions.

I colored in the LED indicators..

The panel currently includes cut-outs for the following:

    -Power Conn AC connector (120v / 20A)
-Line power indicator (lights to indicate you have AC power)
-Panel mount fuses (For three separate sub systems)
    -Main power switch (Large rocker)
-2 position key switch (Key only removable at position 1)
-System power indicator (Lights when main power is switched on)
-System ready indicator (Lights when start up delay timer is finished and no interlock trips present)
-Laser Emission indicator (Lights when main shutter is open)
-System Standby indicator (Lights when delay timer is running)
-Interlock Fault indicator (Lights when emergency stop is pressed or case interlock is tripped)
    -XLR DMX in
    -XLR DMX out
-DMX Address dip switch and signal LED indicator
    -25pin D-sub ILDA signal in
-25pin D-sub ILDA Signal loop (For daisy chaining projectors)
-9pin D-sub External interlock (Emergency stop connect)

What else would I want to see on the back of a projector?

I think I covered all the grounds but I know this group always has good inputs...

Look forward to hearing you thoughts!

    Thanks!!!!
