Default DVD-RW diodes, speed, current and power...

i have a full working DVD-RW from my old PC,
    here it is: http://www.xpcgear.com/gwa4161b.html

    it's a 8X DVD-R burner, i want to unmount the diode,

has anyone have a table or knows how much power can i reach with a 8X? and how many current i must use?

    thank you

    Regards

Most everything being experimented with today is 16X and up. I've never seen power estimates on diodes from anything slower.. I once took apart an 8X drive and I still have the laser I made with it, but I'm only running the diode at 150mA which is giving around 80mW currently. I haven't put much time on it so for all I know it could die at any time.
