I,m waiting for the driver that Mccarrot is selling. Also shrad is working on designing a board with 4 highside drivers and a tec on one board. Andy_con is the original designer off the driver circuit. I think its great to see members with different skills to teamup so that everyone has a bennifit of this. Let say one member designs a driver and another the mechanics that way they can trade and help eachother out.
It would be great to have a group of members each with their own product to sell of to trade. I have a case to trade for stuff that i need.

how tight is your beam of your quad red????? anyone......

I starting to think its a waste of money.....

as its just about impossible in get two duals to line up right on top of one another... without cutting off some of your beams...... you get a figure eight looking beam.... grrrrrrrr

We need dichros that pass 650nm & reflect 635nm or 660nm or in some order like that.... this was you could combind 2 650's & 2 660's or 635's and have a true dot of laser light and not an eight....

what are you tryin to do, align a quad?

if so it depends on the lens your using? if your using like standard aixiz lens then the final beam will be massive and you could probably do with some optics to make the beams smaller.

you might want to post some pictures of your set-up so we can see what you are talking about. Somewhere are some threads probably my quad FS threads were people provide a lot of input on how to combine threads. Im mowing the lawn right now or i would look for you.

Keep in mind you are taking four beams and combinign them side by side and on top and below...not into one beam. You will end up with 4 beams wiht space between unless you use my quad elite setup (or someone elses)which will give you better performance.

if your talking about the two horizontal beams not lining up ,did you set the the laser beams at the correct height ? i take it you want to get the beams like this #
as far as i am aware, and i have built a few now, when you build a quad red you have to set the two horizontal beams at different heights. one 2mm lower of the center the vertical ones and the other 2mm above center, you will have to use shim's to do this,
what i normally do is to put a 2mm shim under the two vertical ones, then i dont have to shim one of the horizontal one's then use one four mm shim under the other horizontal one,
also note that horizontal beams cant be mounted in the same ali block as they need to be mounted at different heights you could mount them in the same block if you had the holes machined at different heights,
the other thing i do is dont fix the lens untill the last minute, get every thing almost perfect line up
then put a dab of epoxy on the edge of the len thread then as the glue drys do an final line up by giving each lens a poke with a cocktail stick just to get every thing spot on,but only do two lasers at a time
the other thing to note is lining up always a lot better if every laser bounces off a mirror, and not fire one vertical and one horizontal straight through a pbs cube or it just to much hard work to get a good line up. hope some of this helps and works for me every time, i found that in the past that you need to build a couple of quads before you will get a good one, they take a lot of paitence to get right
    thats my ten pence worth

is there a dichro that passes 635nm and reflects 650-660nm?? yeah i was trying to combided the 4 beams at like 30' and well... the beam looks like crap....... i then got the eight lookin beam going by blocking the right side diodes and working only with the bottom two..

Yes. There was a group buy for them back in 2008. Details here. Semrock stocks them on the shelf, but in single quantities they cost around $200 each.

Do a search for "SEMROCK" and you'll find several threads discussing how to mix 635 with 660.
