    Default have a look at this beam shot what wrong

    hi have a look at this beam shot anyone know what wrong with this laser
    and why it does this ,the beam is not round its squarish at 3x2mm
    and made up of multiple beams, just curious as to what gives
    thanks

    looks to be mode-hopping.. it could also be multimode by design. Most cheap high-powered DPSS are multimode.

    hi andy your cni is tem01
    this is tem0fuckedup to actually see the beam its made up of three to four beams and is like it from 10mw upto fullpower and when your scanning a circle its fine at the top and bottom and much wider at the sides
    so looks very shit on the scanned image

    How powerful is the laser? If it's Chinese and over 500mW you're not likely to get a perfect TEM00 beam out of it.

    Try warming up the laser head with a hair dryer while it's running and report back.

    here a pic of the green next to my home made dual 640nm just to show how square and bad the beam is
    yes heating up the head did merge the multiple beams but it remained fat and squarish

    Yeah, that still looks pretty bad. I'd say the head is out of alignment.
