    when buying a windows XP disk on ebay, what am I looking for to get a working, licensable set?

    Factory sealed is the only "REAL" guarantee that the license is intact.

    it MUST include a COA sticker, any other version of XP that doesn't include a COA is NON transferable... it must NOT be an Dell/IBM/HP OEM COA, again, these are non-transferable... it must still be attached to the booklet if you really want to get picky about it...

    It's probably safest to just buy a licence direct from MS, then use any XP disc to install.

    they wont sell you just a license... unless you are buying a VLK then you get an email with your key and # of licenses... (you dont get a physical CoA for each machine with a VLK)
