    Default Making connections to CT6800HP

    Hi!

In my new projector i need to make cables connecting the driver and CT6800HP galvo's.
They have a 10pin header connection.

Is it allowed to use a flatcable for connection between driver and galvo, or MUST i use a special shielded cable?

    Your input is welcome

    Thanks!

Pianoman has a copy of the cable schematic. I did not get a chance to copy it on my last visit with him. Perhaps you can PM him and get a scan.

The cambridge schematic I'm refering to has a pair of shields. That is why I am saying get it. The detail I cannot remember is the grounding at the scanner end.

email/pm pianoman and get how to hookup the shields. NO, you are NOT supposed to use ribbon on Cam Techs..

Okay, I just ringed a cable to check it for ya...

    IDC Pin 1 - DB9 Pin 4
    IDC Pin 2 - DB9 Pin 9
    IDC Pin 3 - DB9 Pin 5
    IDC Pin 5 - DB9 Pin 7 (Shield for IDC Pin 1,2,3,and 6)
    IDC Pin 6 - DB9 Pin 8

In a seperate cable we have two conductors...

    IDC Pin 9 - DB9 Pin 6
    IDC Pin 10 - DB9 Pin 1

This will help for pin identification.....

So i guess the cable has to be shielded.
What is the best wire diameter to use for the motor drive?

Size it for four amp peak currents.

If I remember correctly, computer chassis use 10 pin IDC for USB connections. You can probably steal these in a pinch.
