Default Need advice on 473nm module

    Hi!

I'm planning to complete my scanner with a blue module. The requirements are ~100mW and analog modulation. I've been looking at one module from lasever; http://lasever.com/LSR473NL.htm - does anyone have any experience with this? In the specs it says "CW or modulation" only, no mention of TTL or analog, does anyone know? What about modules from other companies? Please help me out

TBH I've heard some negative things about lasever, but I've never owned one. If I had to recommend a Chinese laser manufacturer, I'd say generally it's an even choice between CNI, Laser-wave and Viasho. You won't do badly buying direct from one of those three.

    I have a CNI "50mW" 473nm that does around 98mW currently.

I'm not quite sure that statement is quite as true now as it used to be. I bought a 200mW Lasever probably about three years ago and it was replaced twice under warranty.

However, I got one of their 'improved' models and that is still going strong after ~2 years. SO, I guess they must have done something to improve the longevity. However, I have to say that on balance I probably wouldn't buy another Lasever.

I think your best bet would be to opt for a Laserwave product as their distributors are very reliable, knowledgeble and helpful people. If something goes wrong you'll have excellent back up service. Also, Bridge (the manufacturer) is active on this forum and can usually sort problems out quickly.

    Cheers

    Jem

P.S. I see you're in Sweden. Could I suggest that you perhaps drop Rob (Stanwax) a PM, he's the Laserwave distributor in the UK.

    <2pence>

I have had my Laserver green DPSS for well over 4 years, haven’t used it much but when I dig it out it never fails to fire up, still just as bright.

    Cant complain to be honest.

The Lasever greens always appeared to be pretty reliable. The real downfall for Lasever were the blues which tended to suffer a horrible death.

David Wu at Lasever was a nice guy to deal with but they were soooo slooooow at sorting anything out and I think that added to the problems. If they had dealt with things quickly and efficiently the perception of the company wouldn't have been as bad.

Another thing to consider is that if the laser does go wrong it's a hell of a lot easier (and cheaper) sending it back to a local distributor rather than direct to China!

    Cheers

ive had 4 lasevers in my time and ummm mixed views.

    i currently have 500mw 532, 350mw 635 and 100mw 473.

green and red are worked perfect from day one but the blue has been no end of trouble.

i would avoid buying a blue from lasever, im not 100% sure they have sorted all their build issue with blues.

Thanks for your replies guys. I'll probably end up with Viasho/CNI/Laser-Wave after what I've been reading here. Do anyone know the prices for these units?
