    Default 400mW 640nm vs 1.1 watt 650nm - Pics and videos! ;)

Ok, so I know a couple of you have been waiting to see how these heads compare, so in the interest of fulfilling demand for pics AND vids, here are some pics and vids...

The camera captures the colours poorly, its much more purple than in real life, in fact I was hard pressed to spot the difference in wavelength. However, it does do justice to the brightness perception, again I was hard pressed to tell.

    See what you think....

I did take some shots and vids with the greens on as well, however it looks as if my older 532 is somewhat down on power compared to the new one, which I need to investigate. It only has about 30hrs on it and was doing just over 400mW when I got it. The difference in brightness is as noticeable in real life as in the vid, and if you've been paying attention it gives away which is the 650nm out of the 2. So, I've posted those pics/vids over on my RGY build thread so as not to spoil it if you want to have a guess here.

You didn't say which was which?

    I know!

I thought I'd let people say what they thought before posting which was which

To be honest, they are well matched. But I think the one on the left is 640.

Default De wan on de left is 6 4 tea

Me and Terrawatt say...De wan on de left is 6 4 tea !!!....having recently converted a dual 658nm @ 428 mW dual Maxy....to a Laserwave 640nm at 430mW ( Rated 400mW).....that is what we think.....it puts out a VERY round beam.....at a very good color....at a low divergence !!!!!....And a good price from CT lasers....IMNSHO....it IS the Bees Knees !!! and the way to go !!!

Im gonna guess, that the 640 is on the left side projector!
only cause the beam looks just a tad thinner, at the midpoint, on the left fan,,,,,,

me too, left is 640nm, if you camera not cheat us all, .
it is clearly small beam than 650nm.
    Best regards!

Yep, i also think the left is the 640nm. But the difference is hard to tell. I can image with good collimators in a quad setup its well worth trying as a hobbiest. But for a proffesional doing many shows its better to
    buy a quality module.

I'm going 642nm on the right.. right... right....
Mainly because I'm sure I can see the fast/slow axis in them there finger beams on the left

What do you mean by 'fast/slow axis'? It's not a term I've heard before. Btw there are 2 different scan sets in use in the pics which is why the one on the right never quite achieves fully smooth scans.
