hmm thanks cdbeam for bringing us light on that topic

I have, however, a huge fear about something... I think it's time to prove myself I can cope with 4 separate beams to be aligned with .1 degrees precision at the same time

finger micro-movement loading... no nose scratching allowed

I am bit puzzled by all the text below, but if you are after some high quality dichros, we have them.
    636-669nm pass as well:

They are going to be split into proper categories soon so if you need any, just specify by e-mail.

Default Breaking News: Volcanic likeText explosion causes conflaguration of confusion

HAHAHA...Like the Title !!!! mmmm " Love Stinks...Truth hurts " I suppose I did ramble on a bit...Martin sez he is puzzled by the text....Hell...I am puzzled...And I wrote it !!! but...you all know what I meant....and I was attempting to give back to this fine community !!!!

I was typing and thinking as I went....and combining 642nm with 658nm is very tricky....ask GEM...SO tricky I gave up !!! and found adjusting with three Kinematic (3) axis mounts was challenging enough to get three beams to " Get in line "....let alone four !!!!!!!!!!!! so

Shrad...be afraid...be very afraid....It will be a PAIN !!!! And once you get it all aligned...there is the ongoing challenge of keeping things completely secure so you do not loose your perfect alignment....BUT...not so completely secure that you cannot re-adjust...if necessary !!!! I know....I worry TOO much !!!!! Who cares !!! Have fun !!!

fun there will be, be sure!

we use arctos mounts for the mirrors, so beam alignment shouldn't be too much painful (though I already broke an allen key on one of those mounts, stuck screw you know)

what worries me is the aluminium block used to mount the collimator barrels which is a bit too large (0.5mm wider than optimal)... I'll have to put some more kapton layers to get those beams to output straight

once the four beams will be aligned near perfectly parallel (over bounce mirrors and so, at least 30 meters of distance), we'll put the dichroic on place and align it to have highest reflexion on at least one beam (checking with a LPM will help)

once the first beam will be aligned, tweaking arctos mounts of the other beams should be OK (as the diodes are thermally stabilized, thermal issues should be negligible)

what worries me now, as I think about it, is divergence and telescope

for one beam, divergence will give a small derivation angle for the sides of the beam, perhaps like 0.2 degrees, and then the telescope will further modify these deviations

I think Olek will eat his fingers while I fiddle with the knobs
