Default SEARCH CUSTOM DICHRO COMBINE 642nm and 650nm

    Hi all

    I search a dichro to combine 642nm and 650-658nm
Have you some think for me?

    Thanks a lot

    Hi Olek

There was a group buy on here about a year(ish) ago. Adam (Buffo) organised a deal with Semrock to get some made, they were 640/660.

I use one in my projector to combine 430mW of 660nm with 350mW of 642nm, the resulting colour is beautiful. The dichro's were quite expensive and I think quite a few of the people who jumped in on the group buy have never used the dichro's in their projectors. You may just get lucky, however, don't expect them to be cheap as they were custom made for us.

Also, when fitting it in to your projector you will need to angle tune it to get the best out of it. This is quite fiddly work and requires a precision mount to be able to do it easily (so i'm told by Rob (Stanwax) who did the build for me ).

    Cheers

Yeah, I was at Rob's when he was doing this, the pass through beam would literally flash bright and dark within a degree of rotation.

How efficient are the PBS cubes from various sources at doing this job? Specifically, Swisslas, LaserWave, LSP, others?

I know the price is expensive, but i search about it.
i hope to find it on PL.

I spoke about it yesterday with Shrad on the travel to laserfreak's meeting

OK....I have not taken the time to post this yet....but I tried to combine 658nm ( Maxyz ) with 640nm Laser wave.....I was able to do it.....but it is a huge PITA !!!! The strike angle that the 640 hits the special Dichro is very critical....I agree...seemed like there was only ONE sweet spot....that was it !!!!!!!!!!! So...

You will NOT be using the special dichro to adjust for near-field alignment !!!! Period !!! This means that you will have to have adjustabillity built into your 640 laser head. As this was to be a retrofit to my existing projector....and I did NOT anticipate such an issue with initial lay-out of the optical level....I had almost NO room to work with to give the 640 laser head " adjustabillity "....and further....if you are like me.....I am always looking at the the alignment....adjusting a Dichro in a three (3) axis mount is one thing !!!..... Unbolting a laser head and shifting it ......mmmm???? .005 mm yea..right !!! When you tighten it back down....the " Evil Alignment Faries " move it back....and your nearfield looks even worse !!!!

Playing " move around " with a laser head is an order of magnitude increase in pain in the ass !!!! Nope...not gonna do it !!!! So....I agree that the color combo is VERY nice....and I surly would have enjoyed an additional 460 mW of red power.....but...I opted to just enjoy the huge boost of percived
    red with the 640nm.

    Thats my think !!! and

Thats my story !!! Good luck !!

Any 640 over 150mW is bi polorised so its no use.
