I have offered replacements to both people with lasers with beam problems. All of the packages were insured. I tried to wrap them well enough to survive, I guess in Adam's case, that wasn't well enough. I do test them for quite some time before sending them out. I run each one on my power meter until the output has fully stabilized, and I check the beam profile by shining it on a black card.

Ben, I'm sure the laser was fine when it left but you just cannot trust idiots with a degree in boxology to treat your package with care. In order to avoid this kind of frustration in the future, I suggest you take 5 minutes and come up with a good packaging plan. You'll have more happy customers and less wasted time. I don't know if you have ever filed a claim with USPS but they are the biggest pain in the ass to get a check from. I have no doubts you'll solve the problem but a little better packaging can save you a lot of trouble, time and money in the future.

Hm, my laser arrived fine, but it seems to diverge too fast. How can I fix this?

I plan on making a spirograph, so I need it to produce a tight beam.
