    Default Cone mirror

I wondered what will happen when you hit a laserdiode beam at the tip of a conemirror that has an angle of 45 degrees. I,m also looking for a mirror coated piramid to combine 4 diodes.

    Love to hear anyone,s suggestions!

Surely *everything* is for sale .....

But if the came cheap and off the shelf they would not bother to spend 178 post on the thread, would they?

I just wanted no what the result is when pointing a beam to the point of the cone. I dont want to buy something that isn,t useful. I,m also looking for a piramid with or without coating. Money isn,t a real problem. I,m also working on a quad with good beamspecs and thats a 500 euro setup. I do something i want to do it right. I,m not exactly understand the axicon

If you point a cylinder-type beam with the light travelling axial, onto the tip of a 90 degree cone, you get a cylinder- type beam with the light travelling tangential.

The beams of a 640nm after colllimating is eliptical so that would sugest when pointing two diodes on the tip from the side close next to eachother they would overlap i,m guessing. I just wanted to know what the result is before ordering a high quality expencive mirror.

If you read the thread carefully, there is no such thing as "buying one axicon or coated pyramid"
If such things were readily available, don't you thing we would have seen these in multi-diode modules all over the place ?

The curvature of a cone is not going to help you to create a high quality beam, imho.
I think it will be an optical nightmare pre-compensating the beams for it's curvature.

If the cone doesnt work but a cilinder with 6 surfaces with a mirror coating i could ask edmund if they could send one custom made. I think its doable but most people think about costs. Would a cone with 6 or eigth surfaces work do you think?

The same result can be achieved with knife edge mirrors, the same limitations apply for getting many beams close together.
