    Default Galvo build: Magnets?

    Due to a severe lack of coffee, I have to ask...
    -When bonding neo magnets to a galvo rotor shaft, are all the magnets supposed to repell eachother, or attract? -Or 50/50?

    If they cancel out, how could it possibly work?

    More advanced galvos have crossed fields, but not Elm Chan

    Maybe I can help you with some nice magnets...
    I should have some already in the perfect shape, so already round with a hole cut in middle.
    These magnets I bought a long time ago special for making my own galvo's but never
    had the time to start on that project. Will see if I can find them

    hey, what's their internal and external diameter? I'd like to find some with a 1,2mm inner dia. and 2-ish mm outer dia. to obtain a small inertia

    Yeah, me too. I have a couple of old EMS 4000 galvo's that need new magnets

    It would be really nice to be able to find a couple of sutiable magnets to get the little beasties up and running again.

    @ VJ - I am certainly interested in 4 of them!

    @ Steve - I am looking to get these sorted for as little as poss mate as they are not really worth much it's just I would like them to work. I have totally stripped them and they are sitting here awaiting magnets.

    I just made a picture of the magnets I was talking about a few posts back.
    Diameter = 6mm, Hole diameter = 2mm, Length = 20mm.
    I only have a few left because after I made the photo they smashed into eachother and broke by their own force.
    But there are at least two that are not broken. Always fun to handle strong ND magnets...
    Let me know if you can use them.
