    Hi Matt,

    Thanks for the kudos.

In fact, we will of course be expanding the number of Tutorial Videos available. Already we have a whole series of tutorials in Chinese, which you can see here:
    http://www.pangolin.com/forums/showthread.php?t=738

I made a similar series in English, but didn't quite get it all annotated and such. This will be done soon -- hopefully before the release of the next version.

Also, Derek made a demonstration of what's included with the workspace, which you can see here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XCvbJ8pgA8

By the way, if you use Virtual DJ, Arkaos or Resolume, let us know. Our programmer Don Moir is working on plugins for these programs to work with our IMU SMS product. If you are not familiar with that product, you can read about it here:

    Best regards,

Look I don't want a derail, let alone a flame war, and I have just received my FB3+Quickshow, despite the initial frustrations :-) I may be a tad grumpy and a novice, but I can recognise the best product on the market too - if only by the number of devotees on PL!

    Hi Bill,

I see a lot of clubs that are using different types of text communications like on their Juke Box but it is only one way. This IMU SMS product is really cool and could be a lot of fun with taking requests an polls to be more interactive with patrons. I strickly use Serato for mixing as I like that it is geared to Vinyl play but the only thing I don't like about it is they don't work with plugins. They have limited 3rd party except for adding their plug in to brand mixers and CDJ's.

That would be so cool though if they added the IMU SMS ad on as a way to be more interactive. I'm going to send Serato an email of support so that they see their customers are interested as well as add it to their forum to see about getting a buzz going with it.

One questions. I watched the video's but was wondering if their was a way to screen out the use of certain words to keep from people throwing the F-bomb at others and such?

    Hi Mattatya,

Thanks for the message. I think this may be the first message about our IMU and VMU product. I've heard, from one customer, about this Serato product, but I don't know much about it. The other customer did have very high remarks about it.

We are currently working on a plugin for Virtual DJ. Our current work looks totally cool.

But regarding the filter, yes, our filter is quite sophisticated too. No problem here...

All SMS tutorials can be found here, including a little promotional video:

Anyway, I think it would be best to take this discussion out of the realm of PL and into the realm of email. I don't think too many people here are interested in video SMS stuff...

    Best regards,

    William Benner

Hmmm... Don't know how I missed this thread.

I'ver used IMU/VMU quite a lot and it's a brilliant bit of software. The bad language filter works great, you just have to spend a bit of time loading all the bad language into it. I gave the job to my two teenage daughters and their friends, they had great fun spending an evening thinking of swearwords with their fathers consent . I was astounded at how many swear words they knew

It's worth doing though as then you can let the software filter out bad messages automatically.

    Cheers

I think this is a great thread! maybe i need to get in on that email thread as i use serato as well and think that would be entirely too cool for it to be useful!

serato own virtual dj in the club/pro dj world, i think very few professional/self respecting djs use it, at least in my corner of the us.

    I agree with DJheadie,

Serato is Tops for club use but I have watched Serato develop and they seem to stay back from adding a ton of add ons as they want to stay true to vinyl scratch play and want to keep resources limited. Not that I'm encouraging that they wouldn't have an open ear for this type of product though. I have to admit that it is what's holding me back from buying SMS.

currently I am using 2 laptops, One dedicated to Serato DJing and recording my mix live up to 5 hours at one particular resident and then another laptop for the laser projector. I don't know that I would want a third laptop so I would have to use my laser laptop to have SMS running on as well. If it was on Serato that would help out greatly as I am primarily using that computer and when I am busy in a mix I let the Quickshow software do it work on its own by having timelines going or long play .ILD files. For show though I do have a 2nd person to help out when it gets overwhelming but as of now I am a one man show

Serato is located here in Seattle. I did a search on their forum using keyword MSM and didn't see anyone having a thread.

Maybe I'll take a poll over their and see what people think.
