    Thumbs up

Great to hear you'll be there, Steve!

I propose a new rule for those people wishing to take advantage of Steve's considerable skills with ion lasers: If you want him to work on your rig, you'd better tip him!

If he adjusts your mirrors and peaks the laser, I'd say that's worth at least as much as a good pizza dinner. And if he has to tear into the power supply wiring, or mess around with other, more complicated internal components, then you need to work out a more equitable arrangement.

Last year Steve worked on nearly a dozen lasers over the course of 2 days and didn't get squat for all his effort. I don't want to see that happen again this year.

    Mike:

Glad to hear you'll be able to make it! Should be quite the show this time around. Any chance of seeing you Friday evening for the dinner party too? Also, what about Casey Stack's seminar on Monday?

    David:

Don't worry... If Aaron tries to make any more embarrassing movies of you while you're inebriated, I'll hide his camera! (Or better yet, we'll just get him drunk too, and then make embarrassing movies of him stumbling around!)

Default Hope I can come and help out

Never owned a projector- willing to learn and help where ever I can, if I can make it there.
I take direction well and am good at staying out of the way../ I don't drink(anymore) and will be happy to be a desg. driver for anyone there. Hoping to share the ride w/ Austin Willing--still working on that angle--if that does not pan out is there anybody making the drive from Houston area?? I am needing ( maybe) a room share at one of the cheaper places-all-nite party is OK w/ me- I don't snore-will bring lots of BBQ meat on dry ice and if needed can help with the cooking-cleaning anything that needs done--staying for the seminar too. I understand fully about ordering the t-shirts early- but what is the deadline to reg. and pay as a solo non-projector owning participant??

    thanks for the info-input
looking fwd to meeting you all.

Thumbs up Good to hear you'll be attending!

    Hi Len;

The deadline for registration is Sunday, July 25th if you want to guarantee yourself a shirt. However, you can register later than that if you need to. It's just that anyone who registers after July 25th will not get a shirt. Technically you can pay at the door if you want.

If you'd like to help out with the food, please get in touch with Doug (Mophead) and see what he needs. I think he might be planning on cooking the meat ahead of time, but I'm not positive. Either way though, he's the guy you need to talk to.

Re: hotels... The Holiday Inn Express is the most convenient, as it's close (4 miles) to the venue, and it's also where the "after-parties" will be held each night. (In the conference room.) However, it's $79 per night for a room there. They do include a free breakfast though. But if you're looking for something more affordable, there is a Super 8 motel that is ~9 miles away from the venue, and rooms there are only $45 per night. See previous posts above for more details.

Would be great if you could get there Friday around noon... We could use the help with the load-in and setup. But if you can't make it that early, be *sure* you get there before 6PM so you can join us at the Artist's Cafe for dinner and drinks!

Suggest you bring a small camera and a notepad. You'll want to write down names and phone numbers for future reference.

There's no way I'm gonna make it there before 6, because of work, but I would love it if someone would let me know how to get to the cafe when I get there, so I can join you all.

    Smile

It's easy to find, as it's right on main street in Newton. Here's a link to Google Maps that shows you where it's located. (They even have a street-view of the place.)

See you there at 6 PM! (We'll be upstairs... Just ask for the "SELEM" group.)

This is awesome, the event is still a month away and already it looks like we'll have about 32 folks there. I'm very happy to see that this event is growing, lots of new faces on the list. Can't freakin wait!

We just sent the official SELEM logo (Thanks DSLI_Jon!) off to be digitized for the embroidery machine. I'll probably have the first shirt made by this weekend.
