Here, have some pictures of my experimental rig:
They are pretty amazing aren't they? How hot are you running it? What lens?
I melted an aixiz acrylic with mine. They don't like a watt.

I've got some kind of random Aixis 405 lens in it at the moment. Seems to be fine at 560 mA. I don't want to run it any hotter than that until I have a better heatsink arrangement than "oh hey maybe I can use some of this indium foil to shim out an aixis module to fit an old ScanPro galvo block... have a couple of those... and then sit it on this here TEC... and where did that nice copper heatsink I had go?"
lol,ok.
From what I gather, so far the best cheap lens for these seems to be the aixis glass 405 lens. I should pop mine into my 405-g-whatever and give it a try but It is running fine in my tec test rig And I still love to turn it on and see the powerful beam.
It was REALLY foggy around here late last night. And I so wanted to blast it outside. But I fear I would have woken up my neighbors with the blue glow.
Mine has been set at one watt from the first time I ramped it up. Still going fine. ~10 hours.
Is that odd square a camera artifact or back reflection of of the die spacer (whatever it is called)?

That's what it really looks like, except it looks bluer.
Also, I couldn't resist:
hhm, that is really strange I don't see that in mine.
Oh well.

LOL someone's burning stuff! I want to see it lighting matches!
That reminds me of an old laserium effect calld the "burn wheel". It did just that.
I have seen that around here a couple of times, mostly by accident though. I have a nice little divot on one of my monitors.
