it connects directly to the anode block, under the screw where the other big red wire is...dig and you will fine the other end unless someone snipped it but yeah anode. what it does is it puts the water at the cathode end of the PT at anode potential so there is less corrosion that will stress and erode at the glass to metal seal at the anode block. It is not mission critical that it be hooked up laser will run fine without, you will get better PT life if you hook it up.

Could a beam that is aligned off-axis, and therefore possibly grazing the edge of the bore, als cause this kind of scattering?
In any case, cleaning optics never hurts. There is no such thing as a mirror that is tóó clean.
Be sure to follow Sam's Laser FAQ on optics cleaning though, as a 'quick wipe' could seriously damage the coating.
the manual says that when turning off i should pull up the current and field to max.
but when i pass 34Amps it flips out with relays clicking and stuff??
is this normal over current protection?
why should i pull the current and field to max when turning off??
/martin
32 amps field max you should read 237 to 243 volts across the tube. 1 watt sounds good, clean your mirrors and brewesters
no your power supply is set to 32...i can tell you how to turn it to 38...but 35 is what I would reccomend
