Default MaXYZmodules 100mw 655nm RED Modules

MaXYZmodules 100mw 655nm RED Modules are officially in production.

We have been dragging our feet on these as I wanted to hear back from the
    dozen or so out there...
Everyone is very happy with them ...not one has failed.

Our test unit Now at 130mw (yes, Im trying to blow it up) is still working.
Dont really think this is good for the diode but want see what happens.

    Cross your fingers..

For those who havent seen us , here we are..

    Hey Marconi

If mine comes this weekend I will do a review. Have you included the necessary drive instructions ?

I was going to use my faithful Thandar TS1542S PSU.

The final component of project fly should be with me next week. This weeks priority is to get the PTZ camera up an running. Ill post the URL for it tommrow hopefully and start work on the mounting for the module. If all goes well would you like to test it for me this weekend, I will have it set up in the backroom, and I will be wearing laser googles at all time. When aiming for at the ballons, target the black "I am four" letters (my birthday last year), then hopefully they will be all in range.

Anyway looking forward to my RED, I will let you know when it gets here.

    Regards

    Gold

    Hi Marconi

Is the 130mw red running at that level because of higher drive current ?

Are there any higher power diodes on the horizon, my 110 runs cool and I am sure a bit more heat could be dissapated by your design.

I cant wait for my next module, dont forget to let me know if you get a special one

    Hi Gold,

Yes ...Higher current and different lens.
And the fact that this diode took less current to get to 100mW then most.

There are only two modules running at this level, right now.
This one and another out being tested..

I am waiting for a new stock of lenses to arrive..

Remember ... this is only a test.
If you really , really must have one at this level, it could be done but
I cant give any guarantees...and it'll cost more.

I really think the best way is to combine two modules at 100mW
one fed 90 degrees polarization to the other to acheive higher powers
into a combiner/splitter cube...You may find them inside of old CD or DVD recorders
    or ..online.
