Massive grave-dig too... sigh.
To stay on-topic, I just ordered a bunch of cheap PID controllers from Banggood.cn. They appear to be similar to the units that CDBeam was using a while back, but instead of costing $40-$50 each, they were less than $15 each. We will see how well they work...

so, are the bangood controllers any good?
"its called character briggs..."
To be honest, I haven't hooked one up yet.
But they appear to be fine. Also, they've added quite a few new models since I ordered mine. Now they even sell kits complete with a solid state output relay and a temperature sensor.

I have used a few of these: http://www.oteinternational.com/temp...ntrollers.html
The model TEC 45 and TEC 65 are now TEC-ALL and have a wider adjustment range. They have a PWM output, work very good and are reasonably priced. They were selling on ebay but I cant find them now.
