very very nice kit. i will be trying to put some cash aside for this.
I know it's still early to talk specifics, but how difficult do you think it will be to align the lenses? I haven't had a chance to play with any 445 diodes yet so I'm not familiar with the beam properties. I know the beam has to be corrected with these lenses but I'm wondering how precisely they need to be set...
There will be a step by step process outlined in the assembly instructions for aligning the lenses. How hard it is depends on how steady your hands are at sliding the final lens mount forward and backward, at least for the final step. It takes me about 2 minutes to get the lenses aligned and locked down, so I wouldn't call it very difficult.
If Dr. Lava wants me to I'll post my results with the alignment. I get my lenses to test out the second prototype unit tomorrow and I can have it setup by this weekend. I'm very excited about it. I just got my first projector working last night and it could def use some more blue (and red!).
"TEC controller kit" (qty 2)
Can you tell me the maximum modulation speed on the flexmod? Quick google didn't find it. I'm thinking of the point where a square wave input produces an optical output where the peaks of the output just drop below a constant amplitudeas you increase the square wave frequency.Maybe I should be thinking of the "-3dB" point?
DrLava,
whats your ETA till "ready to ship" on the dual setups?
