Chasing up availability and pricing now.

    Default laser diode

    interested depending on price
though i might be fun trying to tame the divergence on these puppys, no better than a 635nm by the looks of it, aijii do you have the full spec sheet for this diode ?
the 300mw version show a 7/35 divergence, is the 500mw any better ?

I would be very cautious about these diodes, especially if you are paying over $500 a piece for them. Most of the high power red diodes have a much larger stripe width than the new 445nm diodes, which is fine when they are being used as a LED replacement but could cause major issues if you are trying to use it for a projector.

Hopefully these will be on par with the 445nm diodes, but I would at least confirm with the manufacture before investing thousands of dollars in them

okay, its a weekend here now, not expecting anything until Monday morning.

Krazer: we all understand the disadvantages of wide stripe reds, however a 635nm 500mw red is typically not something that provides an unworkable set of parameters...

The stripe from these diodes would make them rather easy to stack, and stack, and stack, and stack, with some FAC and shrinking down with a telescope could potentially have a lot of red in not too shabby a beam.

Failing Mitsubishi, I also have another option up my sleeve that would potentially be fairly cheaper, however comes in a TO3 package. Will keep posted.
