    Andy --

Still ~ $210? I sent you a pm. I hope the price dropped a little
When I commit, I'm in if the price remains good.

That's divergence right? I bet emitter size is a lot smaller right

I heard from Andy earlier in the week, he's abroad or travelling, I think he said he was back early next week. I'm evaluating one of these diodes but it's tough without a lens that doesn't clip the damn beam at the edges! It's a lovely colour though

Yes he was in the Netherlands drinking beers with me now he's flying back to Romania to do a 150.000 people show.

You most probably need a bigger than normal lens with a NA higer than 6 to capture all the light. then you still need to shape the beam.

I'd settle for capturing all the light -- not too bothered about the beam shape at this stage.

Anyone hereabouts happen to know of a suitable lens? Andy said he knew of one but couldn't let me know what it was til he's back.

I have seen the unshaped beam, and its a flashlight. (see attached picture)

Andy is working on a good lens, when it is ready we can buy it from him.

Ouch, I thought they were about the same as the 445's but that looks way worse.

I thought Andy was going to suggest me an interim lens for me to test with, but maybe he meant me to wait for his corrective ones.

    We shall see
