its the same stripe you would get with pretty much any other non-corrected module

adding cylindrical lenses or an anamorphic prism pair would help, again, like pretty much every other casio diode based laser

Hi Mr. Lorenzo. I wouldnt raise the power much, you must not forget about the thermal construction of this module, and I think it's not the greatest, so for better life span I would leave it as is.

@flecom - could you post a pic with just a little fog or such, I really want to understand the beam path

yes i know... buy here in this post there are some guys that powered up to 1,2 - 1,4W!

i setted it @600mw, for now it's enought and it will not heat so much! (i can also add a little fan on it, i have some here in "lab")

    for sure..

you have to know that the diodes are rejected items. so there is no guarantee that your diode rech the same power.

    can the beam burn/melt also?

    go to post #29 here

its about 1/4 the way down... not the final beam path but should give you an idea of whats happening

    rejected items? how so?

both of mine easily do 1.25W all day (I know I ran two of them for ~24 hours @ 1.25watts) and one reached 1.5~w and the other 1.4~w but I didn't want to drive them to their limit sp I turned them back down to 1.25w... and at that power they will indeed very much burn things!

answers from o-like (if you need them):

1.on the module there is a cross shape, you can increase/decrease current by this.and 550mw is just pre-set power, you can change it by increase/decrease current ,but you 'd better change it within 750mw ,if too higher ,it will damage the diode

    2. Yes,it can be power on the diode with 12V AC current

ya it has a rectifier on the board so you could put like 10~12VAC into it, not sure why you would want to though?

I put a 40mm fan on mine and ran several hours worth of shows with the o-like set @ 1.2W and it wasn't even warm
