ok a few people have asked for more info about the MFE actuators... so heres some pics...
I really dont have any detailed specs, except for one line on One Stop Laser Shop's info page...
and they also ship these MFE actuators as the included shutter in the LT-1000 enclosures (I know because I bought one recently) so you have a vote of confidence there I guess...MFE
A GM20 clone at lower price, more than acceptable performance, and slightly larger in size. Many people have recommended this as the only true alternative to the GM20.
these should be great as shutters, actuators for beam tables etc... they don't have a huge amount of travel, but they are quick... so I would figure thats a good thing since more travel = more time
we tested them with DZ's GM-20 driver at FLEM and they worked fine... so I have no reason to believe that they would not work with anything else designed to drive GM-20's
pics:
actuator
AA battery for a size reference
cryptic numbers... screws are included
includes the bit that attaches to the shaft... you could easily get a small strip of aluminum, drill three holes and attach it to this
closeup, you can see the torx set-screw and the three included screws for attaching a flag to this...
>>>>> I am going to have special SELEM only pricing of $25/ea or 5 for $100 <<<<<
I think this is really fair considering a GM-20 costs several times more... I am also open to trades
I was also able to find this on a laser message board (old old post tho)
The two differences between the MFE's and the GM20's are this:
The GM20 actuators are faster. However with that said, the mechanical time
constant on the GM20's is faster then the electrical time constant. So you
can't really use any type of EMF feedback to control the bounce of the
actuators. You could use an external sensor for feedback and that would
help, but again, but the time you do anything electronic, the mechanics have
been there and done that.
The MFE's are slower but the electrical time constant is some what faster
then the mechanical one. This lends itself to better control using feedback
from the actuator itself.
I recommend the MFE actuators for beams because it is much easier to control
the bounce of the lever arm. They still have some, but they are far better
then the GM20's.
Here are the pics of the Laserworld galovs I have and the amp cards too.

Just so you can see what the pointers look like.

I'm looking for a couple things, a Pangolin FB3 and a hazer. Just wondering if someone at SELEM will have either of these for sale.
See ya all soon,
Mike
Now theres 5 pointers left
