The strings are driven by a current source, which puts out ~1.5amps per string (each string is 6 diodes, there are 4 strings). The catch is that the projector will shut down if your load does not drop between 20v and 30v, so you need to add resistors to make sure that your load drops a suitable amount of voltage. I would expect ~2ohms will work in your case, possibly up to 5 may be needed. I am not sure if you can get away with running 2 outputs in parallel to run your LED at higher currents, in theory it should be possible but I have not tried it. Also be sure that you do not cut off the temp sense resistors, or let any of the board short out to the heatsink.
