Kristall, yes, this is true. It would be very easy to build with all the wonderful information available here and elsewhere on PL. The issue is time. I'll gladly fork over some dough for a completed setup instead of having to re-invent the wheel. With less than 2 months till SELEM and a number of things left to get done, time is too valuable a resource.

    Hak, sending PM. Thanks!

    BUMP to add pics
I actually found my DAC s from 300Evil in only two days!!

I moved out of a storage place so now have three rooms full of mostly unmarked boxes- but on the upside I no longer pay the rent on the storage-i may place one thread with tons of stuff some NOT laser related but who knows what some will buy.

i would truly love to give some of you a super deal on this new DAC--
but ATM i cannot- i am scrambling for funds to make both SELEM & the LSO course.

Brad asked first and if there was a way i would let him have it cheap- but I need to get back what I paid-

DEF taking offers on the blank PCB- 300Evil has the list of parts needed in a thread-
I wll find it and link you.
ALSo if enough want I may bring some 9mm 445nm kaseo diodes to sell- at SELEM 79$ pre sale 75$- fee in hand delivery at the event to ship add $2.

I am sold out of these so until i get orders I will not have them just yet.
IF anyone wants an intact array block with 12 9mms in it ..I can do that for 69$ per diode-ONE time only --$828 plus $8 for insured tracked shipping CONUS ONLY please.

^^ btw these each comes with a *useable* Single element stock Kaseo lens.

    pm ME PLEASE

    HAK

found THE OP AND WHAT i PAID- $155-

    taking offers

    http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...ight=aUDIOLASE

As Adam is currently MIA these may be worth more NOW than back in 2010--

No payments via PPal plze I am boycotting them--

USPS MOs are far more safe and only $1.99.
personal or bank checks are fine as well.

    CONUS ONLY--sorry

    added info
this one was built and tested by 300Evil never used- always kept in anti-static bag.
Frist to ask is Brad & DZ- so I consider it sold pending payment. same price as 2010- 155$ tested and shipped. CONUS

sorry for the blurry pic.. hak

Indirectly I heard back from Adam(300 EVIL) I somehow ended up with two faceBook accts. and I guess I sent Adam a friend request from the secong account and he added me (again) as a friend- sent Adam a message that his presence was requested at PL.
Adam uses his full name at FB and I have found him a few times at FB chat--

so rumors that he was "Kidnapped, Tied up and taken away and held for ransom"(Tom Petty) are untrue.

I have a fully built EASYLASE correction amp, built by 300evil, with a CM106 USB sound device, sitting right here.

I'd sell it in a heartbeat.

    Any takers?

Like I have said before... It's a copy of the original design by PL member dchammonds, as posted here way back in 2005:

    http://laserboy.org/p_laserboy_95.html

I spent a lot of time on the phone with 300evil tech supporting him thought what I thought was a one-off of this design.

    Anyway....

He gave the one I have to me at SELEM 2008. When I took it home and tried to use it I immediately noticed that all the pots were installed to work backwards.

Also, it uses the original fixed resister and pot values, plus the 5.1V zener diode.

So it can only work with sound cards that have a DC offset in the +2.5V region. The resolution is not that great. And the CM-106 devices that work with this design are not 8 channels. They are only 6 channels. So forget about playing back full ADAT wave transcriptions with left and right audio.

AND the gain is only 5 to 1.

I have since re-designed the LaserBoy Correction Amp to work with a variable negative voltage regulator to compensate for a much wider range of offset voltages and changed the fixed resisters and pots to offer a gain of up to 10 to 1.

The CM6206 based USB SND8 devices are fully populated with all 8 channels and they work quite well with my new revisions to the design.

How's the driver support for the sound cards you are supporting? Do they work well in all version of 32bit and 64 bit Windows including Windows 8 and 8.1? Do manufacturer drivers need to be installed or do they work with Windows out of the box? These are the details that have plagued sound card DACs so making sure the matrix of what works and what doesn't work is known.

I suppose this question is somewhat important.

But the Correction Amp has nothing to do with drivers.

The one big reason for the revisions that I did to the design was to make it work with just about any sound device.

That means a bigger selection of drivers and a more future proof solution.
