Default two quad setups for combining red diodes

Due the development of my own modules i have two quad setups that are not usuable for commercial sale but ideal for hobbyist for build ing their own 1 watt red 660nm module.

The collimators are adjustable and have m9x0.5 thread so stacking of the beams is easy
The collimatorblock is insulated from te baseplate and their is room for a 20x20 peltier to fit underneath. The setup works with the brass mount are easy adjustable and are stable for a long period of time. I made a dualsetup with these mounts and you can see the beamshot in the last picture.

    Lenght: 115mm
    width : 52mm
    height: 50mm

I added a beamtable in front of the beam for stacking 4 blue diodes.

Beamsize is depending on the lenses that are used in the setups The better the lens of a single diode the smaller the beamsize after stacking. I used the lens from mccarrot and the ones from Laser4u. The last one gave a very tight beam.

Dave, just for the record did you ever build a setup? You asked me about beamsize but as you should know as a professional company thats depending on the lenses that are used. When using Aixiz lenses you get a much fatter beam from a single diode then using ones with a FL of 4.6 and a NA of 0.53 like kvant does.So the stacked beam will be not so tight when using aixiz lenses.

The dual is just an example that shows that the adjustable collimator works. If i dont sell it i will make a quad open can with it in combination with the driver from DR Lava to show that my setup will work.

Any other useful information you want to ad ?

I added a beamtable for prisms see topic :

    Hi,
I am interested in one of these quad setups.
    but
    Where do I find Laser4u?
What divergence did you get on the very tight beam?
I can't see an asking price anywhere in the thread, how much for just one ????

    Thanks
    Cheers

The result of the beamdivergence after stacking depend on the lenses that are being used. Hobbybob was very satisfied with the lenses of laser4u.

    Here,s the link:

We didn,t do a test, we just had some fun with trying a few lenses. The setup is capable of stacking 4 diodes and being staying toghether for a long time. The collimators are adjustable and so stacking horizontally is easy.

This is the last one that i have. I can get one more because the metalshop usually makes 1 more. They still have it.
I will help the people who bought a setup where i can. I can help you with getting the best lens for the setup. shoot me a PM if you want it.

It would be interesting to see a power comparison between the lenses.

In theory the NA of 0,3 from the lasers4u will give more losses compared to a lens with a NA of 0,55.

Also its confusing when you talk about a tight beam.

In my opinion a tight beam is a beam with a very low divergence.

A thin beam is a beam with a small diameter.

I tested the lasers4u lenses a while back, and did not like them because the beam at aperture was big - no good for combining unless a secondary collimator is used..
