light grey as a background would be easier to deal with with slow connections
personally, I had to wait a bit of time for the background to load
otherwise I like those greyed buttons and panels

Anti-aliasing around all the smileys in the edit window looks completely borked with the new layout. (figures though; it was optimized for a light background, not the dark grey color of the editor background.
I dislike change, so I'm a poor judge of new skins/themes, but even so, I agree that white text on a colored background is hard to read.

Trying to read text that scrolls past a stationary complex background is a big distraction for me. Waaaaaaay too busy! What's the reason for making a change?
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
At least make the background all one color. It's really hard to read. Defualt for me.
I prefer a design as simple as possible. Usability is more important than fanciness. Information over eye candy. Black text on white or light pastel background is unrivalled. I visit fora to learn and exchange ideas, not to get an art experience. Then IŽd rather watch lasers.

While I love the idea of a new theme, the black/grey one needs a lot of work, and I have to assume the orange one was to make us try the black one The black one has potential, but the icons really need to be toned down, and the ani aliasing needs to be fixed.
I am BLIND!
