The choice between the two really depends on how many beams you ultimately want to combine. As soon as you PBS, that locks you in to that number of diodes, whereas knife-edging allows many beams to be stacked. Provided you stack them with the polarizations the same, you can then PBS one stacked system with another.
Also these diodes have an oval shape, stacking two side by side can make the beam more circular.
my collection of reds is growing...

Eat Sleep Lase Repeat
Hello guys
Because i have build a 6 setup with my new system and i experianced a thing that was exactly like what Andy experianced so i thought its good to share my findings here to help others. I used also the 7020H lenses with a telescope. I turned on the laser and the setup starts to heat up. When i aliigned everything you can see the seperate spots moving in the center. It looked like a swerm of bees in a beehiveso If you are planning a six setup with plastic lenses use a metal barrel!!!! I think its best to buy glass lenses but single glass lenses are expencive so iff you want to go plastic for testing your setup at least mount them in a metal barrel.
I think aixiz sell empty brass barrels![]()
yES they do!
16,50 dollars for 10 pieces ;-)
I didn't fail !
I just found out 10,000 ways that didn't work.
Yeah, it was quite strange to see the dots moving. I thought i was getting tired because it was late in the evening but the next morning it was the same after my coffeeI also ordered some more telescope combinations to test them on other lenses like o like reds because they are cheap too. The best i think is a glass aspheric lens of 8 Fl but when building a 9 setup for example i dont want to spend 200 dollars on lenses and another 50 on a telescope.
