I was going to recommend that, I use two small blobs of epoxy after I get my lenses to a good focus. I haven't had a lens drift out of focus yet, and its easy to remove with a razor blade if you need to.
I have made some progress on my copy of this build, only difference is I'm trying to do it with just air cooling.
If the epoxy fixes your lens problem, you should give it a trial run with the TEC off and see if the beams still go to crap.
Oh and good work so far!
Austin,
Those are looking positively brilliant.
I like those a lot. Nice Work!
I can not wait to see them in person at SELEM 2011.....
Are you selling these?
Ian
Glueing your lenses is a must. Try pushing on a lens with your finger. I bet money it will put that diode out of alignment.
multi-diode combiners are so fun..... after you get everything perfect and bolt it in your projector you will find you need to realign everything again. On the up side, all the work is totally worth it. 2+ watts of red is pretty sweet.
glueing helped but i wouldnt say its the fix ive been looking for.
i dont have any issues using glass lens so i think its just the plastic lens are crap.
hey ho, onto the next build.

what are you using to knife edge with.
thanks and God bless.
God Bless.
Soooo, I am behind the times on the whole combining thing. If I just want to combine 2 of those LOC diodes, is a PBS or knife edging the way to go? Seems like there has been a shift towards knife edging from what I have seen here.
